Shimoga, formally known as Shivamogga, is a city and the area base camp of Shimoga locale in the focal piece of the territory of Karnataka, India. The city lies on the banks of the Tunga River. Being the passage for the uneven district of the Western Ghats, the city is prominently nicknamed as “Entryway of Malnad” (ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲು). The number of inhabitants in Shimoga city is 322,650 according to 2011 census.The city has been chosen for the Smart Cities project, remaining in the fourth situation in the state and 25th in the nation as of November 2020.The place also Tiger and Lion Safari.

The city is 569 m above ocean level and is encircled by rich green paddy fields, arecanut and coconut forests. It is found 267 km from the state capital Bangalore and 195 km from the port city Mangalore.

We were nearly 11/2 year in this beautiful town. A excellent place with moderate climate. We had pleasant here.
